December is already here and Christmas has arrived to stay. It is time to gather and share moments and holy food. If you have little time to cook this recipe is made for you. Not all of us can dedicate de time that we would like to cook for our people. Finding de balance to combine family, work, food and friends during this intense time of the year, is not an easy task. From Hispalco we want to wish you a merry Christmas with this present for your senses. Discover this Christmas ginger cookies, simple and very tasty recipe, that will make your family and friends not regret a holiday evening.

We need the following ingredients to bake our Christmas ginger cookies:

– 500g of flour
– 2 teaspoons of minced ginger
– 2 teaspoons of minced cinnamon
– 1/4 of a teaspoon of minced nutmeg
– 3/4 of baking soda
– 225g of butter
– 200g of brown sugar
– 1 big egg
– 170g of honey

Christmas Ginger Cookies preparation

To make our Christmas cookies we firstly mix the dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda and brown sugar. In another bowl we mix de butter until we get a cream texture where we will add the egg and the honey. Lastly we add the dry ingredient mix with the cream until we get an homogeneous dough. This must be a little bit sticky. We let the dough rest for two hours outside de fridge. We then use a rolling pin to extend de dough on silver paper or oven paper. We then let the mix rest for 10 minutos in the freezer before cutting the cookies with a mold or by hand, this will allow the cutting of the cookies to be easier.
Pre-heat the oven at 180ºC, the baking time will be approximately 10 minutes, but it depends on the size of our cookies. You can always check the progress in the oven.

You can serve the cookies with hot chocolate and nuts or your favorite treat. We have now everything ready to enjoy this tasty and simple christmas recipe with your beloved ones.
